Friday nights action at Kopellah Speedway marked the return of Jimmy Kouba back into the hotseat piloting the TW Motorsports #34TW 360 sprint car in UMSS action. Jimmy will be piloting the #34TW for the remainder of the 2009 season. Brad Barickman has been chasing Jerry Richert Jr for much of the
season during UMSS action at the Kopellah Speedway, but on Friday night July 3
Barickman was able put a halt to Richert's four race winning streak at the
western Wisconsin oval. In front of the
largest crowd of the season on a pleasant summer night, the UMSS sprint cars
put a show for the fans on a well-prepared track.

TW Motorsports is very proud and excited to announce that Jimmy Kouba will be driving the 34TW sprint car in the UMSS Series for the remainder of the 2009 season. Although Jason Tostenson was 2nd in the UMSS points, he decided he could no longer drive for the team for personal reasons on Sunday, June 21st.

Scott Winters has enjoyed success over the past several years racing at the Cedar Lake Speedway, so in his first appearance of the 2009 season it came as no surprise to see his #23w sprinter sitting in Victory Lane at the end of a night that saw him record a clean sweep. It was also Scott's first UMSS sprint race of the season, and he snapped Jerry Richert Jr's four race winning streak in UMSS action on a very well-prepared track to kick off the 11th Annual Masters weekend at the famed western Wisconsin oval on Thursday June 18. Following his victory, Winters immediately headed to the scales before returning to celebrate his win in Victory Lane.

Jerry Richert Jr continued his winning ways, as the Forest Lake driver earned his fourth straight victory in UMSS feature race action at the Kopellah Speedway on Friday evening June 12. Richert earned $1,000 for his triumph, as a last minute bonus announced at the drivers meeting by GRP Motorsports boosted the first place payout. Leigh Thomas led the first eight laps before a bobble entering turn one allowed Richert to swoop underneath him for the top spot. Richert was able to race ahead of the field during the remainder of the 20 lap feature. Richert indicated, "It's great to keep the winning streak alive.

Forest Lake, Minnesota's Jerry Richert Jr. made it three straight UMSS feature wins at the Kopellah Speedway when he passed early leader Jason Tostenson en route to victory in the upstart series fourth appearance of the season on Friday night June 5. Richert Jr. and Tostenson entered the night's racing events tied for the series point lead, but it was Richert who now sits atop the standings all alone after his third win of the season in the five UMSS races held so far.
